How do you remove a mould patch on your carpet?
i move into a new apartment and found a mould patch on my carpet, the patch is getting bigger by the day and leaves an aweful smell, please tell me what i can do to control the spread?
You have to notify the landlord. This could be a potential health danger as well as could eventually permanently damage the carpeting if it is continuing to grow. The carpet will have to be professionally cleaned, they have solutions that kill all enzymes and bacteria as well as removing the odor. Leave a fan blowing on the carpet after it has been cleaned to make sure that it dries quickly, preferably less than 3-4 hours. The mildew could be caused by previous carpet cleaning and the carpet took way too long to dry. Once it has been cleaned, monitor the area to make sure that the mildew does not return. Good luck
